== Squid Salmple f/w 135 new file handling notes == Everything below is stored in a top level ALM022/ directory on a USB Stick == Bank Directorys 'Bank XX' directorys are numbered 1-99 (XX) they contain sets of 8 wavs mapped to each Squid channel. These Bank directorys have existed since original squid release. Squid will create these automaticilly. A numbered sub directory mapping to the channel number (eg 1/ 2/ .. 8/ ) now holds the .wav file for that channel. It can be named freely. The first 8 letters of the filename are also now displayed. If more than one wav file is in the directory squid will currently use the first one it finds. If a numbered directory does not exist, Squid will fall back to loading old style chanXXX.wav file - however any saves will be in new format directory however (this also prevents overites of original wav on supplied stick). == Pool Directory The 'Pool/' directory (under ALM022/) can contain both wav files and further sub directorys named anything you want. The directory will be created if it doesn't already exist. You can then access, browse, preview and load wav files from this Pool directory into the current active channel. Access via USB button and scroll to from 'USB Bank' to 'USB pool' screen and then click encoder. Use Func + encoder hold here to preview audio. The USB button will take you up a directory or toggle to the current active USB Bank screen. You cannot save into this directory from Squid, only load. Loaded files will get saved in respective Bank directory (when saved), == Set Directorys Sub directories named 'Set ABDCEFGH' (where 'ABDCEFGH' is anything you want) allow for complete different sets of 100 Banks to be stored (with top level Bank becoming the 'DEFAULT' Bank Set) Access via USB button and scroll to from 'USB Bank' to 'USB SETS' screen (showing current) and then click encoder. They do not containt there own Pool directory - only top level Pool directory is used. == Other notes. + All wav files must be 16 bit 44.1khz . Stereo files will end up being loaded as Mono. + For some reason it really doesn't like ?'s in file names. Please avoid at least for now. + Potentially issues with really long path and filenames (>250 characters)
